Director of the UNLV Center for Energy Research and an ASME Fellow, with a doctorate from the University of Utah and a minor in nuclear engineering. His research spans computational fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, nuclear energy and corrosion modelling, the last of which bears directly on the materials question that constrains every molten salt programme. He has served as principal or co-principal investigator on more than $16M in funded research and is the author or co-author of roughly 180 peer-reviewed papers.
Dr. Chen holds an equity interest in Utah Green Energy Technologies, LLC.
